The Spring Book is ON! Here are a few final checks to perform as you go into the most important book of the year- . Is your programming department ready? Here are a few questions for the PD's. 1. On a scale of 1 to 5, how would your PD rate the overall sound of the station today? (Less than 4? uh oh!) 2. How is the music? Is any research (music test) fully implemented? It should be by now. Is the air staff sounding the way you want it? More looks under the hood include; promo's, liners, production quality, that elusive stationality, weekend programming, Selector rules, news, traffic people, web site, the vans clean and looking good? Hopefully, your stations are all dressed up with somewhere to go. Good luck everyone! Here's to a "killer" spring book! (And a great weekend!)

The Spring Book is ON! Here are a few checks to perform as you go into the most important book of the year. Are your brands being clearly defined with your marketing? Is your marketing department ready to execute the plan perfectly? How would you rate your confidence level in the marketing that you have planned? Is the proper amount planned for each station? (Usually - never) Make the adjustments this week. It's your last chance. Tomorrow, rate the station PD before Arbitron rates your station.

The Spring Book is ON! Here are a few checks to perform as you go into the most important book of the year. Has the engineering department listened to the processing of each station? Are there any technical issues in the studios? A studio not working properly causes morale problems. Make sure all signals are cranking at full fidelity and sounding the best they can be.

The Spring Book is ON! In a tough economy, the ratings are more important than ever. This week, as we do each year, we will present a few checks to perform as you go into the most important book of 2008. I know money is tight, but the production department is the last line of defense for bad sounding commercials. Get the weak copy, weak reading, and bad quality spots off the air or re-cut. TSL is hard to get. Don't make it any harder with bad commercials.
