October pacing should be ahead of last year. Make sure the traffic department is totally ready for one of the biggest revenue months of the year. being "sold out" in prime three weeks ahead is poor planning. Don't let it happen this month. plan for rate movement now. problems? you can always write me at joegm@allaccess.com have a great weekend!

October is almost here. Halloween promotions mean additional revenue. Haunted houses, remotes, "fright nights" all add to October's bottom line. Get with eh GSM's. The time to plan is now.

If HD radio is going to become "hip" enough for young people to buy the radios, we must program to them. Have the staff under 25 (yes interns too!) run the station. They will make it hip. You keep your hands out of the programming. You're too old. (unless you're under 25.)

Does this HD radio thing worry you as much as me? We are running promos for our HD "70's channel", but unless we give people a reason to buy a radio, this thing will be a tough sell. Tomorrow, we'll discuss the formats issue, but today, I'm worried that our promos are not hitting the mark. No effort, dead air, bad rotations will never go on our AM & FM stations. Why make exceptions for HD? Make HD radio sound perfect. Even if there are few listeners. FM was the same 50 years ago.

Back from the convention? After returning from any convention, we all have a stack of business cards. Make sure they are followed up on, then placed is your address book. Networking is always good when you are needing to (or forced to) move on.
