There were a number of companies with stories to tell in yesterday's Spring 2007 book for NEW YORK. CBS AC WWFS (FRESH 102-7) had a second solid book, ranking eighth overall among adults 25-54. CLEAR CHANNEL's WLTW slid to 3rd 25-54, off 1.4 shares from the Winter and 2.2 shares from a year ago. WWFS was up 0.7 from Winter to Spring and 1.3 shares from its numbers as Rhythmic AC "MIX 102-7" in the 25-54 cell.
In morning drive, SBS Tropical WSKQ replaced WINS as the top station 25-54. STEVE HARVEY on WBLS and ELVIS DURAN on WHTZ (Z100) tied for second. WINS ranked fourth, while SCOTT SHANNON and TODD PETTENGILL were up 0.7 shares to move into fifth place -- putting them ahead of WLTW, which was off a full share from Winter and 1.4 shares from a year ago in wake-ups.
On the 18-34 side, Z100 holds a full share lead on sister Urban WWPR (POWER 105) and EMMIS Rhythmic WQHT, which tied for second. SBS sisters WSKQ and WPAT round out the top 5. WWFS also ranked No. 9 in the 18-34 cell, where it actually beat WLTW by two-tenths.
EMMIS also saw growth for Smooth Jazz WQCD in the 25-54 cell (+0.3) and Urban AC WRKS, which tied for fourth.
While WXRK only flipped from Talk to Active Rock right before the end of the book, the station appears to have had a solid June, with increases of 0.9 18-34 and 0.7 25-54 in the book. OPIE & ANTHONY surged 0.7 in morning drive 25-54 as well.
