2) How would you describe your style?
Ooooo that's easy: Hip, sassy, spicy, millennia, and most importantly relatable.
3) Do you specialize in a particular kind of voice work?
I wouldn't say I specialize in a particular kind a voice work, but I will tell you that what I book the most is English with a Spanish -Latin accent... basically the way that I just naturally talk, which happens to work out extremely well for me.
4) What's the most unusual request you've ever received?
To Meow and Growl, like a cat (bahahaha).
5) Who are your mentors?
I talk with my mentors regularly: the amazing Cayman Kelly & Josh Goodman. I am very close to Josh, especially because he's here in Colorado like I am. Mara Junot has also played a big part in my voiceover career, especially from the beginning when I went full-time. I have grown as a voiceover artist because of these people and I'm very grateful!!
6) What other voice talents do you have the most respect for?
I can't leave out people like Joe Cipriano, Kelly Doherty (Kelly Kelly Kelly), Jen Sweeney - who has taken the time to be in my voiceover life for almost 10 years now! - and Chad Erickson, Mark Rider and Tre Mosley, who have ALWAYS taken the time to answer my questions.
7) How active are you with Social Media?
I actually think that my growth the past three years is because of how active I am on social media. You would be surprised how many opportunities you get on Instagram and LinkedIn. The opportunities are limitless, but make sure that when you post on social media that you create the image that you are proud of. That is so important.
8) What other types of voice work do you aspire to do?
OK, how big of a dream do you want me to talk about? The ultimate would be to sing for Disney since I do have a singing background. That would be like, kill me I'm ready to die and go to heaven.
The more realistic one is... I REALLY want to live announce. I know I can do it. I know I can KILL it.
9) What's one thing that would surprise many people to learn about you?
I was a professional singer before I fell into the world of radio and voiceover. You know, I talk so much on social media about my voiceover career, but my first career behind the mic was singing. As a kid I won the Apollo and also Star Search...now I'm really telling my age!!! I have recorded in some amazing recording studios with lots of famous people I won't mention, but they were and still are stars.
I also landed a huge record deal that I walked away from because I didn't feel it was for me, but hey, I made it happen with a few folks who believed in me.
10) What advice would you give to people who are trying to break into voice work?
I would say if you have a nice voice, that's great, but it takes way more than that. If you are good at marketing, you're patient, have a great work ethic, and are great at listening to others, taking great advice, practicing and practicing and practicing and more practicing, then I would say go for it. But if you don't see yourself doing that, don't go at this halfway... go ALL THE WAY.
