1) What was your first job in radio?
My First job was at WSDR in Sterling, Il Doing part-time work, board-oping & trying to not to fall asleep during replays of "Teddy Bears Picnic at 4am."
2) What led you to a career in radio? Was there a defining moment, which made you realize "this is it"?
Career Day in High School. We had a guy from my town, named Pete Herrick, come in & he talked about how he sat at the bar & had a beer with Meatloaf. Now, I don't really LIKE meatloaf...the guy or the food...so, why it had such a big impact on my career is beyond me.
3) If you were just starting out in radio, knowing now, what you didn't then, would you still do it?
Without a doubt. Accountants don't interview Axl Rose & Zakk Wylde.
4) What career path would you be following had it not been for this industry?
Just like everyone else's would be: Rock Star.

Being Local & being connected to the community is always going to be important to people.

Well, if the PAST 5 years are any indication...I'll be in the same market, but 30 pounds heavier. (damn you Krispey Kreme!!!)

Tom Waits in Chicago!!! That dude KNOWS how to command an audience and how to tell a story.

Weird Al Yankovic's "Straight Outta Lynnwood". Holy crap. I listened to "White & Nerdy" about 100 times this weekend.
9) What was the biggest gaffe you've made on air? (dead air ... forget a mic was still on ... etc.)
3 words: Grand Fuck Railroad

When I was an intern, I was duct taped to a light pole to be used as a human billboard. The Po-lice instructed me down.

My dad told me when he was giving me "The Talk": "Don't ever put your dillywacker in anything you wouldn't want your kids to call 'Mom.'" It has NOTHING AND EVERYTHING to do with radio.
