1) What was your first job in radio?
I started as a part-timer right here at WJJO.
2) If you were just starting out in radio, knowing now what you didn't then, would you still do it?
Hell yes.
3) What makes your station or market unique?
We don't daypart here. WJJO is rock 24/7.
4) What can we be doing with our station websites to better our stations as a whole?
Keep the content up to date. Give the listeners a reason to be on your site and keep them coming back to your site.
5) If you could add any one full-time position to your budget with no questions asked, what would it be?
Chiropractor.
6) What's the best concert you've been to so far this year and why?
Rock on the Range, well-planned event, great lineup, an extremely well-run event.
7) What was the biggest gaffe you've made on-air?
First day with new program and thought the mic was off ... said some four-letter words that you can't say on air (thank you, FCC)
8) What was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you at a remote?
A guy walked up to me, and said "Are you Ski?" I replied, "Yep." He looked at me and said, "Wow, I always thought you were a guy"
9) How often do you do remotes and which work best for the station?
We do about five to 10 remotes a week. The remotes that work out the best are the ones that have a payoff for the listener.
10) What is the best advice you would give to young programmers/promotion people?
Promotion people -- be flexible ... work with sales to make a horrible promotion into a great one.
