Posturing, Posing and Press Releases:
SARAH PALIN continues to hold the media and the political pundits in the palm of her hand. She spent Memorial Day visiting historic sites in the Washington D-C area, after taking part Sunday in Arlington, VA's "Rolling Thunder" motorcycle rally.
Palin's "One Nation" bus tour is now heading up the East Coast --presumably to New Hampshire-- but no details are being given to the press. When asked late yesterday if she's running, she told reporters, "I honestly don't know ... It's still a matter of looking at the field and considering much. There truly is a lot to consider before you throw yourself out there in the name of service to the public because it's so all consuming."
Editor's Note: Love her or hate her, you have to admit that not telling the media where she's going is a stroke of genius. It generates a story of its own. (Pacelli)Small-town politics:
A member of Representative Town Meeting in Branford, Connecticut, isn't backing down from a habit that she's fallen into when she disagrees with someone during regular meetings. RTM Representative ALICE LAMBERT usually responds by giving someone the middle finger.
That's right, she flips 'em "the bird."
At last week's meeting, she showed up with the book, "101 Ways to Flip the Bird," and a small middle finger placard. She says she's starting a movement to "free the finger from obscene thinkers." (Pacelli)Guilty Pleasures:
No winner in Saturday night's drawing for the Powerball Lottery. That means Wednesday night's drawing is valued at $200 million ($105.2 million cash value). Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington DC and the U-S Virgin Islands. Chances of winning the grand prize (all five numbers plus the powerball) are 1 in 195.2 million.
Trash talk and satellite dish:
LINDSAY LOHAN is making the most of her time on house arrest and working on her tan. Photographers for TMZ.com caught the trouble-prone starlet catching some rays on the roof of her Venice, California, townhouse. Word is she'll probably spend about thirty-five-days in the confines of her property --luckily, she has an ocean view. (Lee)
