I'm a Poll Man:
The image of Congress just continues to get worse. A new Rasmussen Reports survey says 46-percent of likely voters think most members of Congress are corrupt in some way.
And 85-percent of voters think most members of Congress are more interested in helping their own careers rather than helping other people, versus just seven-percent who think most legislators are more interested in helping others. (Pacelli)Sucking Up:
A bit more buzz was stoked yesterday about SARAH PALIN possibly getting into the GOP presidential race when word broke that she'll be the keynote speaker at a big Tea Party Rally in Waukee, IA, on September 3rd. Palin had told Fox News a few weeks ago that she'll decide abut running either in August or September.
And as Real Clear Politics notes, Palin's Iowa appearance will come just two days after the documentary "The Undefeated" --spotlighting her accomplishments in Alaska-- is released on Pay-Per-View and video-on-demand. (Pacelli)The 411:
Don't expect the fever for PIPPA MIDDLETON to die down anytime soon --she's got a legion of teeny, tiny fans. The UK's Daily Mail reports "Philippa" --and the shortened version, "Pippa" --is the hottest new name around. Nameberry.com got 23-million searches inspired by DUCHESS KATE's younger sister, while ELULA, LUNA, HADLEY and MILA round out the top five female monikers.
For the opposite sex, ASHER, ARLO, EVERETT, FLYNN and ARCHER are on-track to be the most popular names in the nursery. (Lee)Broadcast, cable and video news:

Off the record:
Now it looks like there will be a BEACH BOYS reunion album. After years of saying it will never happen, MIKE LOVE told Billboard.com that to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary, all of the surviving members, including BRIAN WILSON, AL JARDINE and BRUCE JOHNSTON will hit the studio as soon as everyone has the time. Mike said he's written some tunes for the project, and so has Brian. Plus, there will be some sort of Beach Boys concert to mark the half-century of music. (Marino)
Wierd science:
Remember those "glow-fish" that scientists made by splicing a gene in a neon tetra? Now, South Korean scientists claim they've used genetics and cloning to create a dog that glows in the dark. The four cloned beagle puppies look perfectly normal in daylight, but several body parts --including the nails, skin, eyes and abdomen-- glow red in the dark, and the dogs' entire body glows under ultraviolet light.
