Married:
Sorry, boys --MOLLY SIMS is off the market. Us Weekly reports the model tied the knot with SCOTT STUBER in Napa, California, this past Saturday. Celebrity guests like FERGIE and JOSH DUHAMEL popped in to watch the happy couple say their vows, this is Molly's first marriage and Scott's second stab at wedded bliss. (Lee)
Sucking the life out of the wire services:
WANDA SYKES is opening up about her shocking breast cancer diagnosis. The comic told ELLEN DEGENERES that she went in for breast reduction surgery last February and got quite a surprise after the operation. Doctors discovered she had DCIS (dual carcinoma in situ) in her left breast. Luckily it was "stage zero," and she had the option to wait for treatment with lots of monitoring. Wanda admits she's "not good at keeping on top of stuff," so she bit the bullet and underwent a bilateral mastectomy last month because she simply didn't want to take any chances. (Lee)
Guilty Pleasures:
No winner in Friday night's drawing for the Mega Millions Lottery. That means Tuesday night's drawing is valued at $96 million ($72.3 million cash value). Mega Millions is played in 42 states and Washington DC. Chances of winning the big prize are 1 in 175.7 million.
Gossip Central: tabloids with Cory Myers:
PIA TOSCANO can't handle competition. According to Us Weekly magazine, the "American Idol" reject split with dance pro MARK BALLAS because she was angry that he got KRISTIN CAVALLARI as a partner this season and he was going to fake a romance with her to stay in the public eye.
Designer Update:
“Modern Family” bombshell SOFIA VERGARA launched her new line of K-Mart clothes this past weekend. Fashionista.com gives Sofia’s K-Mart clothes high marks for styling, calling it a “a sexy departure for the mass retailer.” The clothes include a pleather-paneled mini skirt, clingy tops and lots of animal prints. Her line also includes jewelry and sexy shoes.
Editor’s Note: In other words, the clothes all come from "Modern Family’s" wardrobe department. Either that, or she’s a secret KARDASHIAN. Their clothes for Sears are all clingy and leopard-printy too. (Bartha)The Reel Deal:
Are you a "Star Wars" geek? Didja pick up a copy of the "Star Wars" Blu-Ray set, "The Complete Saga," last week when they came out? If you did, you're not alone. Stats from LucasFilm and Fox say more than a million copies of the ginormous collection were snapped up worldwide, more than half of them in North America alone.
Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
The E STREET BAND will continue to record and tour with BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN after the death of sax player CLARENCE CLEMONS. Backstreets.com says that's what guitarist STEVEN VAN ZANDT believes. The group will not stop making music, Steve said, because that's what they do. Steve added that the band really hasn't been the same since organ player DANNY FEDERICI died in 2008. There will be a band meeting with Bruce in the next few weeks to decide what to do next. (Marino)
