That's the question highlighted by a piece in the Los Angeles Times, which also illustrates the problem Democrats are having with that issue as well. Their original claim of $250-thousand dollars being rich, has now been hiked in most Democratic circles to one-million dollars.
MA Democratic Congressman BARNEY FRANK tells the paper, "I'd vote for $250-thousand, but it may be that we don't have the votes politically... A million is better than nothing." (Pacelli)

Filling a need:

Even as pundits fret about the future of Apple after the death of its visionary founder, the 4S --the first iPhone not launched by STEVE JOBS-- is selling like hot cakes.
Preorders at the online store have been sold out for the Oct 14 release day, so fans will have to wait one to two weeks before getting the phone. Or they can wait in line, but as of yesterday, three people were already camped outside Apple's Fifth Avenue store in New York City --two of them had been there for 12 days. (Maiman)

ASHTON KUTCHER and DEMI MOORE were back together Friday night, taking in Yom Kippur services at the Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles.
People magazine reports the pair sat across the aisle from each other --as is customary at the Centre-- then hugged it out and spoke with several people before "walking out with their arms wrapped around the other's waists."
Meanwhile, the London Daily Mail quoted "an entertainment insider," who claimed Demi spent quality time Friday at a divorce lawyer's office before attending those religious services, despite trying to work through their problems with Kabbalah counseling sessions.

In today’s edition of Profiles in Narcissism, KIM KARDASHIAN says she turned her wedding to KRIS HUMPRIES into a bloated reality T-V Bridezilla-fest because we “would feel cheated if I didn’t film it.”
She told InStyle Australia that she briefly considered not sharing her wedding with the masses. But ultimately, she did it for her fans.
