I'm a Poll Man:
It may be at least three years away, but the "HILLARY CLINTON for President" bandwagon still has plenty of passengers. A new Public Policy Polling survey for possible 2016 Democratic White House contenders gives the current Secretary of State a 60-to-18-percent lead with Iowa Caucus voters over VP JOE BIDEN, who's made some noise about a possible run, even though some say he'd be too old.
No other high-profile Democrat hits five-percent in the poll. (Pacelli)Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
ROSIE O'DONNELL isn't dealing well with the cancellation of her talk show. Insiders tell the National Enquirer that Ro is convinced BETHENNY FRANKEL stole her idea, thinks she's only popular because ELLEN DeGENERES is producing and is "steaming' mad that the reality darling has more friends on Facebook! (Lee)
How many boyfriends does SCARLETT JOHANSSON have? Star magazine has pics of a hunky man wearing a Speedo lying next to Scarlett on the deck of a yacht off the coast of Sicily. He even put a scarf over her eyes to shield the sun and showered off with her on deck. Her people say he's just a bodyguard. The actress has been dating ad exec NATE TAYLOR.
Designer Update:
MADONNA's designer brother it hitting the runways in September. CHRISTOPHER CIOCCONE is on the roster for London's Fashion Week. NY Magazine's The Cut says he'll be debuting a "groundbreaking" collection of footwear. The whole thing is being given the top-secret treatment. The Ciccone Collection of footwear is "thought to combine leather, rubber and canvas." Madonna's brother has done work for her current tour also, as a creative director, photographer and dancer. (Bartha)
The Internet:
Who do you trust (online version): New data out from Harris Interactive and Placecast finds that, from a consumer data standpoint, most US shoppers trust Amazon more than they trust Facebook. Most poll respondents (66 percent) rated Amazon's use of personal data 'somewhat to very acceptable' while only 33 percent of Facebook users said the same thing. (Kaye)
Grace notes:
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN had suicidal thoughts at the height of his fame. The Boss told the New Yorker magazine that he's been seeing a therapist since 1982. He went from being a critics' darling to an international superstar, and all the ass-kissing he was getting made Bruce question his own self worth. The interview is 15,000-words and definitely worth reading. (Marino)
