Halloween update:
MITT ROMNEY is definitely doing his part to boost the economy.
Following Romney's debate comments, interest in Big Bird costumes has skyrocketed--there's been a 500 percent increase in sales for the "Sassy Big Bird Adult Costume" since the debate, according to the website. CostumeCraze.com. Another site, Halloween Express has had hundreds of searches for Big Bird costumes since the debate, and a spokesman for Costume World said that all of their stores are selling out of Big Bird costumes --and doing especially well is the costume pair featuring Big Bird and Romney "with a machine gun doing Big Bird in."
Also selling well: Mitt Romney masks.
Editor's note: Nice to see Americans once again demonstrating the art of being original. (I know! I'll go as Big Bird. NO one will think of THAT! --Maiman)Designer Update:
TAYLOR SWIFT is teaming up with Keds on a line of limited edition shoes. Fashionista.com says they'll hit stores to coincide with the release of her new album, "Red."
Editor's note: Three guesses what color the shoes will be. (Bartha)Reality Round-Up:
Rapper THE GAME is doing a reality show about his upcoming wedding to high school teacher TIFFNEY CAMBRIDGE. Look for "Marrying the Game" to debut on VH1 on Nov 19.
MICHAEL BOLTON is getting his own TV show. Deadline.com says ABC has a sitcom in development called "Michael Bolton's Daughter Is Destroying My Life." The Reel Deal:
"Fast and Furious" star PAUL WALKER is hobbling around after tearing his ACL while filming the latest installment of the series, "Fast and Furious 6."
Deadline.com says it isn't bad enough that he'll have to drive an automatic in the sequel, but has been advised by doctors to rest this weekend and the movie makers will have to shoot around him until he's well enough to return.Taking everything much too seriously:
What's the worst bill you've ever received?
We're guessing SOLENNE SAN JOSE has you beat. San Jose, a French woman, recently received a bill for 11.7 quadrillion euro, or $15 quadrillion bucks. That's the number 15 followed by 15 zeroes, for those of you having trouble picturing it.
"There were so many zeros I couldn't even work out how much it was," said San Jose. And it actually took some tussling with the phone company, which first told her there was nothing they could do to amend the computer-generated statement and later offered to set up installments to pay off the bill before eventually admitting they'd made a mistake.
The actual bill: 117.21 euro, or about $151.
Editor's note: Payment plan? Well, it was worth a shot.
--No, you're mistaken. The $15 quadrillion? That's the Obama deficit in 2016 if he wins another term. (Maiman) -
