The Reel Deal:
The Cannes Film Festival begins today in the South of France and French favorite JERRY LEWIS will be there! Jerry, who was awarded the Légion d'honneur by the French Minister of Culture in 2006 because the French love his films, will be doing a screening of DANIEL NOAH's comedy, "Max Rose," which he stars in along with CLAIRE BLOOM, KEVIN POLLAK, KERRY BISHE and MORT SAHL.
Daily Variety says in the film, Jerry plays a recently widowed jazz pianist who has discovered that his marriage may have been a lie and then embarks on an exploration of his own past.Losers in Lockup:
Never let it be said that TREVOR RUNYON lacked chutzpah --or an appetite.
Surveillance video shows the Kentucky man walking into a grocery store before closing time on Sunday and hiding until employees had cleared out. He then comes out of hiding to cook and eat six steaks and some shrimp, and then he goes through an entire birthday cake, some beer, 57 cans of Redi-Whip and some cigarettes.
At one point, as local television delicately put it, he "went to (the) bathroom on himself," and helped himself to a change of clothes. Finally he climbed up into the rafters and went to sleep. In the morning, firefighters extracted him from his perch, and police took him into custody.
Editor's note: The Aristocrats!
--You get an A-plus for the party plan, but a failing grade for your exit strategy. (Maiman)Models:
Good news for the extremely tall women in your life... Supermodel KARLIE KLOSS is joining forces with Frame denim to make jeans for "freakishly tall" women like her. She's six-foot-one. Karlie told Vogue that she's never had jeans that were long enough for her body. Karlie's Frame jeans offer a 40-inch inseam for women in two styles, skinny and flared.
FYI: Most women's "Tall" jeans range from 34-36 inches. (Bartha)Guilty Pleasures, take two:

If you're concerned about the smell of smoke when you travel, book a room in a non-smoking hotel. The non-smoking room at a hotel that allows smoking isn't really a healthy alternative.
Researchers at San Diego State University tested 30 California hotels and found nicotine residue and traces of other chemicals on surfaces and in the air of both smoking and non-smoking rooms. Writings in the journal Tobacco Control explain smoke doesn't know the difference between a smoking and non-smoking room, and it travels, ending up in the hallways and in other rooms including the non-smoking ones.
Second-hand smoke has been linked to asthma attacks, heart disease and lung cancer. (Page) -
