The Airlines:
It's nice to know that chivalry is still alive and well in these fast, modern times. JESSIE FRANK wrote an open letter on her Facebook page about a frustrating day of travel that wound up with delays, mechanical problems and cancellations while trying to visit her daughter at Camp Kudzu --a place just for kids with diabetes. Ms. Frank was eighth on the list of standby passengers when a seat on a flight to Atlanta suddenly popped up. At the end of the trip, the flight attendant announced that they had a special passenger aboard named RICHARD ANDERSON --the CEO of Delta Airlines! Turns out the corporate big wig rode in the jump seat in the cockpit so a mom could go see her baby on one of the few days of the year she feels "normal."
Delta confirmed the story, but Mr. Anderson wants to stay out of the limelight and the story has been shared over 17-hundred times on Facebook. (Lee)Trash talk and satellite dish:
JUSTIN BIEBER isn't crying lonely tears into his Dr. Pepper over SELENA GOMEZ. RadarOnline.com reports the hearthrob looked quite cozy with a former Hooters waitress named JORDAN OZUNA during a trip to Las Vegas. Apparently they did lots of smooching and hugging while waiting to go indoor skydiving and "The Bieb" seems to have "fallen hard" for the model and cocktail waitress. Too bad the object of his affection already has a husband! Jordan is very married to a member of the U.S. Coast Guard named DANIEL who is currently serving overseas. (Lee)
On, off and way-off Broadway:
They're putting together a new Broadway show based on the 1992 novel, "The Bridges of Madison County."
The movie, which grossed $71.5 million in 1995, starred CLINT EASTWOOD and MERYL STREEP, and the Hollywood Reporter says KELLI O'HARA and STEVEN PASQUALE, who are currently appearing together in the Off-Broadway musical, "Far From Heaven," will star in "Bridges" when it opens on Broadway early next year.Chic Sh*t:
Essie Nail Polish has a bridal line they're promoting at Kohl's stores. A medium pink- violet is called "My Better Half," pink is "No Baggage Please," a pale violet is "Meet Me At The Altar" and our favorite is the lavender "Using My Maiden Name." $8 a bottle. (Kaye)
Ratings:
The Nielsen summer sweeps period begins today and runs through Jul 24. Look for more stories about how "your sink can kill you."
Grace notes:
Now that Proposition 8 is no more in California, MELISSA ETHERIDGE says she'll marry her partner, LINDA WALLEM. The couple has been together three years. Linda is one of the creators and an executive producer of the Showtime series, "Nurse Jackie." Melissa said yesterday (quote), "Once again our constitution stands strong. All men, and women, and everything in between are created equal."
FYI: Linda Wallem's brother STEPHEN WALLEM plays Thor on "Nurse Jackie." (Marino) -
