Riding high in some early 2016 White House polls, NJ GOP Gov. CHRIS CHRISTIE is reportedly making the rounds of some deep-pocketed Republican donors. The National Reviewreports that Christie is headed to the Hamptons on New York's Long Island to chat with major GOP donors close to the BUSH family and former NY Mayor RUDY GIULIANI. (Pacelli)
On, off and way-off Broadway:
LaTOYA JACKSON is getting ready to do Broadway.
The NY Daily News reports LaToya will star in "Newsical the Musical" for a week, from Sep 03-08, taking over from former "227" star JACKÉE HARRY. She'll have to fit it in between taping her Oprah Winfrey Network show "Life With La Toya," but says "I've wanted to do [theater], but on Broadway the shows play for such a long, extended time," so she'll decide if she wants to do more shows later.Baseball:
BRIAN WILSON from the Los Angeles Dodgers may be bidding his signature facial hair a fond adieu. RadarOnline.com reports a new online retailer called 800Razors.com has offered up at least one-million-bucks for the baller to shave off his signature beard and become a brand ambassador for the company. Co-Founder and President PHILIP MASIELLO calls the enormous amount of stubble "iconic," they hope to show how "great our product is" and think it will "work wonders on the average man." (Lee)
Ratings:
That OPRAH WINFREY interview with LINDSAY LOHAN didn't do as well as everybody might have assumed.
According to overnight Nielsen ratings, the much-promoted interview drew a far smaller audience than Oprah's other "exclusive" interviews.
Lindsay's interview had less than a million viewers; her interview with WHITNEY HOUSTON's daughter, BOBBI KRISTINA, pulled in 3.5 million viewers, and her interview with LANCE ARMSTRONG had 3.2 million.Grace notes:
So, what does BEYONCE want to eat after a sold-out festival gig in the UK? Caviar? Sushi? Beef Wellington? Nah. Fried Chicken! London's Daily Mail says that right after Beyonce got off stage at the V Festival Saturday night in Hylands Park, which is about an hour outside of London, she had her people call Nando's in Chelmsford and place a big order for fried chicken. Beyonce wanted 58 wing platters, 48 whole chickens, 12 veggie burgers, 24 coleslaws and 24 rice dishes. The tab came to about $22-hundred dollars. And no, the grub wasn't just for Beyonce. She shared it with her entourage and crew. (Marino)
