Reality Round-Up:
Another day, another addition to the cast of the upcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars." As we mentioned earlier this week, NICK CARTER was already being mentioned as a possible contestant; yesterday it was confirmed.
Fans may remember that Nick's younger brother, AARON, finished in fifth place during Season Nine of the show.
Other D-list celebrities who've been named so far include Australian conservationist STEVE IRWIN's 17-year-old daughter, BINDI, and Triple Crown-winning jockey VICTOR ESPINOZA, who stands 5-foot 2-inches tall.
E! News also reported yesterday that 68-year-old disgraced celebrity chef PAULA DEEN will be one of the contestants as well. She'd previously been asked to be on the show in 2010, but turned producers down. E! is also reporting that R&B legend CHAKA KAHN will also be on the show.
The full roster of contestants is expected to be announced on next Tuesday's edition of ABC's "Good Morning America"; the new season of "Dancing With the Stars" premieres Mon, Sep 14.Sucking the life out of the wire services:
See ya: ROSIE O'DONNELL's daughter CHELSEA has flown the coop once again. A rep for the comic told ABC News that her baby girl "made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go home with her birth mother," DEANNA, who gave up Chelsea for adoption in 1997, and it was "her choice." The pair drove back to Wisconsin, where Chelsea will stay for the time being.
TMZ.com says Rosie has cut off Chelsea financially and has refused to turn over her birth certificate and social security card.
Chelsea made headlines last week when she was discovered at the home of a 23-year-old man in New Jersey after going missing for over a week. (Lee)Fashion Emergency:
Your tasteless Halloween Costume of the Day --A costume company is selling a "Lion Killer Dentist Halloween Costume." That's obviously in reference to Minnesota dentist WALTER PALMER, who sparked international outrage after killing the beloved Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe a couple weeks ago. The costume is being sold on the website for a company called Costumeish. It includes a severed lion's head mask, bloody gloves and a bloody smock "for a gruesome, complete look," according to the website. The company also claims 15 percent of proceeds from the costume's $60 dollar price tag sale will go to an unspecified wildlife foundation.
The Hollywood Reporter says if that's not tasteless enough for you, the website Yandy.com is selling a Sexy Cecil the Lion Halloween costume. The pricetag runs just under $120 bucks. They say 20 percent of proceeds will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund. (Bartha)Animal Stories:
Stupid is as stupid does. In other words, don't try to take a selfie with a rattlesnake.
A man in California on his family's farm decided that he wanted a selfie with the four foot long reptile. So he picked it up and tried to take a picture. His nephew was with him and described the snake as rattling like crazy and really mad. And then it struck.
It bit his arm and now doctors aren't sure that it can be saved. His own mother has no sympathy for him and went against his wishes and talked to the press to teach him a lesson.
Editor's note: I'm pretty sure that losing his arm will be enough of a lesson. (Myers)Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
ELVIS PRESLEY is back in the Top 40. A new collection called "Elvis Presley Forever," which is only available through the U.S. Postal Service, will debut at number 11 on next week's Billboard 200 Albums chart. It sold 27-thousand units in its first week. That gives Elvis his 53rd Top 40 album. FRANK SINATRA still has the most with 57. (Marino)
