London tabloids:
Hey ladies --ever dream of having fabulous cleavage like the late MARILYN MONROE? Great news --the chance is yours as one of the sex symbol's bras goes on sale today! Unfortunately, it will set you back a little bit more than a typical underwire. A rep for Julian's Auctions tells the UK's Daily Mail that it could go for $8-to-10-thousand dollars, while they're also selling one of her wigs, STEVE McQUEEN's 1972 Honda CB450 motorcycle, a blood-stained shirt worn by HEATH LEDGER in "Brokeback Mountain" and DANIEL CRAIG's suit from "Spectre." Fashion Emergency:
With this weekend's hubbub over people being bumped off United Airlines because they were wearing leggings, PUMA says they're offering 20 percent off all leggings to customers who bring a past or present United Airlines plane ticket to one of their stores in the U.S.
If you followed the story, you know that United's dress code wouldn't allow a pair of girls in spandex to board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis. The girls had a free ride on the plane, since they were family or friends of an airline company employee. But they were expected to follow the same dress code as employees, who are not supposed to wear leggings. Leggings are welcome on United if you're a regular customer, however.Everyday heroes:
A New Jersey man was granted an interesting wish for his 100th birthday: to return to work.
BILL HANSEN retired from Hutchinson Plumbing, Heating and Cooling in Cherry Hill at the age of 97. He had worked as a permit coordinator for the company for over three decades. But, Hansen explains, "I hate being retired." So, for his 100th birthday Monday, his old bosses welcomed him back. When Hansen arrived at work he was greeted by a standing ovation and a birthday cake. Managers agreed to pay him $1-dollar and gave him a full day of work to get done.
Hansen spent the entire day going from jobsite to jobsite where all his old clients happily greeted him. Hansen says his next life goal is to live long enough to see his granddaughter graduate --in 2024. (Still)Trendspotting:
Push-up bras are out! Sports bras and bralettes are in! And ladies have athleisure clothing to thank for all the comfort! The Hollywood Reportersays sales of bralettes have skyrocketed more than 120 percent year-over-year, while sales of push-up bras have fallen 50 percent. Sports bras, too, have also seen an uptick in sales as customers seek out more comfortable, effortless options. Established lingerie brands are facing stiff competition from newcomers like Lively, Negative and Adore Me.
Editor's FYI: For the Non-Bra-Literate: A "bralette" is a light-weight, usually unlined bra that provides some lift but there's no underwire or other hardware, so they're much more comfortable. (Bartha) -
