Sheer stupidity:
Dude didn't look enoughlike a lady.
Thirty-eight year-oldWOODROW DYER, of Marion, Florida, had an arrest warrant on him for possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted felon. As the sheriff's office tried to serve the warrant, Dyer tried to dress up like a woman to fool the deputies.
Unfortunately he ended up looking more like STEVEN TYLER of AEROSMITH --and deputies were able to get him the next day. He's also been charged with two counts of resisting arrest. See a funny video of his arrest, complete with Aerosmith soundtrack here. (Myers)Broadcast, cable and video news:
Talk-show host ELLEN DeGENERES is going back to stand-up.
She announced on Twitter yesterday that she'll be doing a brand-new stand up special for Netflix, which has gotten into the stand-up comedy field, with specials already booked from KEVIN JAMES, TRACY MORGAN, CHRIS ROCK, DAVE CHAPPELLE and AMY SCHUMER.
Ellen's special will be her first since 2000. No word on a date, for the show, yet.Chic Sh*t:
The average American teen spends $221.26 on a prom dress. Fashionista.com says a recent survey by Yahoo Style also found that the majority of respondents think prom dress codes are a good idea. It also found that students in the Northeast spend an average of $700 on prom overall, more than their counterparts anywhere else. (Bartha)
Sucks to be you:
COLT PRATTES went on a brutal diet to morph into his "Dirty Dancing" character, Johnny Castle. The breakout star tells E! News that he had to lose 20-30 pounds for the role because "nobody was that big in the 60's." The poor guy survived on eight-ounces of fish in the morning, another eight in the evening and all the red wine he could drink!
MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY followed the same diet to slim down for his role as an AIDS patient in "The Dallas Buyers Club." (Lee)
