Keeping Up With The Trump Family:
President DONALD TRUMP is launching his own subscription box service. The Hollywood Reportersays the Trump campaign (because 2020 is just three very long years away) launched the subscription box service on Monday. Inspired by the make-up and skincare boxes like those provided by Birchbox, the Trump "Big League Box" (say "bigly") goes for $69 dollars per month. It promises "a handpicked bundle of exclusive and vintage official Donald J. Trump merchandise delivered to your door every month as a recurring donor." The money would go to Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign committee. (Bartha)
Fast Food:
Burger King is waging its own 'Game of Thrones' in Belgium.
The fast food company has launched a mock election online, asking Belgians to decide who's a better king: The Burger King mascot or Belgium's actual KING PHILIPPE. The site asks: "Two kings, one single crown, who shall reign?" A spokesman for Belgium's royal family expressed disapproval over the use of King Philippe's name and likeness, stating: "We would not have given our authorization."
A Burger King spokesperson says the royal family hasn't contacted them directly. Votes can be cast online until June 19th. (Still)Broadcast, cable and video news:
See ya: SCOTT PELLEY will leave his post as the anchor of "CBS Evening News," according to reports from the NY Post's Page Six gossip column.
Pelley, who took over for KATIE COURIC in 2011, is also an anchor on CBS' "60 Minutes," and will reportedly be going back to that job full-time once he leaves the evening news.
CBS News would not comment on the story.
Possibly the biggest problem for Pelley is that CBS has been beaten in the ratings by both NBC's "Nightly News" with LESTER HOLT and ABC's "World News Tonight" with DAVID MUIR. Muir has the most viewers overall, while Holt has the most viewers in the coveted 25-54 age group for advertiser money.Small town, small people:
Nothing says "thank you" to our fallen soldiers like a bikini bike wash. Republic Harley Davidson in Stafford, Texas, held the event over the Memorial Day weekend, staffed by models from Houston's Glitz Dolls. They cooked crawfish and customers mingled while getting their bikes cleaned. See some of the pictures here. (Myers)
