Lowering expectations:
A guy in England found an interesting way to protest the dress code at his work.
JOEY BARGE complained on Twitter that he was sent home from his job because managers didn't approve of the summer shorts he was wearing. Barge says there's a heatwave outside and the shorts seem appropriate for the weather. So, to protest the dress code, he came to work the next day wearing women's clothing. Barge wore a black dress with pink stripes, to be exact.
The worker says he was expecting to be sent home again. Instead, bosses notified employees they'd be allowed to wear shorts from now on in hot weather.
Barge says he was given the chance to change out of the dress, but kept it on for the rest of the day. (Still)Fashion Emergency:
RIHANNA's final collection for MANOLO BLAHNIK is called 'So Stoned' --because of course it is. Set to hit stores and online July 6, Peoplesays the four styles of sandals in the mix each are covered in crystals. Each sandal features P-V-C lining to create a totally-see-through effect that extends down to the clear Perspex heel. Swarovski crystals are in there, too. Her "Poison Ivy" sandals have already been previewed by Rihanna herself - she wore them in DJ KHALED's new music video for "Wild Thoughts." (Bartha)
Trash talk and satellite dish:
Should DENNIS RODMAN's friendship with KIM JONG-UN cost him his membership in the Basketball Hall of Fame? TMZ reports a human rights organization called the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation ain't pleased about his trip to North Korea and claim he has "blood on his hands" for the murder of OTTO WARMBIER.
The VCA has started a petition on Change.org urging the NBA to boot him from the Hall of Fame, allege he's "damaged the integrity" of the game and think the move will send a message about the "shameless coddling of murderous dictatorial regimes." (Lee)Those @$#%* Foreigners:
Secretary of State REX TILLERSON and Defense Secretary JAMES MATTIS were among top U.S. officials pressing China to get tougher with North Korea during high-level meetings in Washington yesterday. Tillerson told reporters that the U.S. reiterated to China that "they have a diplomatic responsibility to exert much greater economic and diplomatic pressure on the regime if they want to prevent further escalation in the region."
Asked about one of PRESIDENT TRUMP's tweets saying that China hasn't been able to move the North Korean situation, Mattis said that the president represents "the American peoples' frustration with the regime that provokes and provokes and provokes and basically plays outside the rules, plays fast and loose with the truth."
