Posturing, Posing and Press Releases:
Last week it was KID ROCK... now, Senator CAITLYN JENNER?
Could happen, according to the one-time Olympic decathlon champion who competed as BRUCE JENNER, Appearing on JOHN CATSIMATIDIS, radio show on AM-970 in New York City, Jenner said, "I have considered it. I like the political side of it."
Jenner --a Republican-- added, "The political side of it has always been very intriguing to me. Over the next six months or so, I gotta find out where I can do a better job. Can I do a better job from the outside? Kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talking to anybody? Or are you better from the inside, and we are in the process of determining that." (Pacelli)
FYI: Jenner previously told CNN's DON LEMON in April that she originally thought she would never run for office but would "seriously look at it" if she felt she could make a significant difference.Setting a good example:
Oh, the irony. Remember PATRICIA KRENTCIL, the "Tan Mom," who was arrested for child endangerment for allegedly letting her daughter go tanning at a salon at age five?" Well she's ticked at her daughter's school in New Jersey for NOT putting suntan lotion on her and letting her get a sunburn! She's even considering filing a lawsuit against them! She's mad because a teacher noticed burns on her daughter's legs when she was five and that's what led to her arrest back in 2012. "After what they did to me, they didn't put lotion on her? This time, I'm going after them," said Krentcil. In case you don't remember how obnoxiously dark Patricia is, see her here. (Myers)
Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
The Classic West festival rocked out Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles over the weekend. Billboard.com says STEELY DAN was missing co-founder and guitarist WALTER BECKER. He wasn't there because of an (quote), "undisclosed illness." The Dan's longtime guitarist JON HERRINGTON was also absent, but jazz vet LARRY CARLTON filled in.
As for the EAGLES, GLENN FREY's 24-year-old son, DEACON filled in for his late father on guitar and vocals, along with country star VINCE GILL. Deacon looks just like the 70's-era Glenn, and sounded a lot like him on "Take It Easy." Vince handled "Lyin' Eyes." BOB SEGER was a surprise guest. He joined the band for "Heartache Tonight," which he co-wrote with Glenn, DON HENLEY and J.D. SOUTHER. The DOOBIE BROTHERS were also on the bill and did a greatest hits set. No MICHAEL McDONALD, but original singers TOM JOHNSTON and PAT SIMMONS are still in the group. Last night's lineup was FLEETWOOD MAC, JOURNEY and EARTH, WIND & FIRE.
Next up is Classic East with the same two-day lineup at New York's Citi Field on the 29th and 30th. (Marino)Trendspotting:
