Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places:
A retired QVC home shopping channel executive claims she wasted $150-thousand dollars on a worthless matchmaking service.
62-year-old DARLENE DAGGETT settled a lawsuit against California-based Kelleher International, a dating service that allegedly fixed her up with felons and married men. She also claims they sent her on dates with a few "mentally unstable" suitors. But, Kelleher chief executive --and former Baywatch actress-- AMBER KELLEHER-ANDREWS says her company is responsible for thousands of successful marriages.
Kelleher-Andrews promises her company works hard to match people up with suitable partners. But, she admits "It doesn't always work out." (Still)Another @$#%* Press Release:
Gotta love this --there's a Cheetos restaurant coming to New York City --but only for a couple of days next week.
The brainchild of celebrity chef ANNE BURRELL (who's the co-host of the Food Network show, "Worst Cooks in America"), she'll be the chef for the pop-up restaurant called "The Spotted Cheetah" opening up next Tuesday.
Business Insiderreports the restaurant will serve Cheetos-inspired fare --but just from Tue, Aug 15 to Thu, Aug 17. The menu items include Cheetos Crusted Fried Pickles, Spicy Cheetos Nachos, Cheetos Sweetos Crusted Cheesecake and other items ranging from $8 to $22.Culture Shock:
Millennials finally want to buy homes, but it's not to start families or get married: it's to get a dog.
A survey by Harris Poll on behalf of SunTrust Mortgage found that a whopping thirty-three percent of millennial home buyers did so in order to provide for man's best friend. Only 25 percent said marriage motivated them to buy a house, and 19 percent said that having a child was their chief reason.
25-year-old GWEN WERNER "It felt inhumane having a dog live in a third-floor apartment without any space to run around," which is why she and her husband bought a house.
Plus: dogs are still cheaper than kids. Fido doesn't require a college fund, after all. (AB)
