Never underestimate the power of your pet!
Buddy, the African Grey parrot, is pretty smart. He can mimic almost anyone's voice. Including his female owner's voice to Amazon's Alexa. Yeah, you see where this is going.
His owner, CORIENNE PRETORIUS, of South East London, was completely surprised when she got a gift box from the mail order company. She eventually figured it out and caught Buddy in action on video. "I couldn't believe it when I realized that Buddy had made an Amazon order. We've had the device for four months and I use it to play music or make 'to do' lists but I've never ordered anything online. When I came home on Sunday, I could hear Buddy talking but couldn't quite make out what he was saying. Then I heard Alexa say, 'Sorry I didn't quite get that.' Buddy said 'Alexa' and some gibberish, and the machine replied, 'What is it you want to order? I didn't hear what happened after that and didn't think anything of it until I got a notification that my Amazon order had been placed."
Thankfully, orders placed by voice with Alexa are eligible for free returns. (Myers)Fashion Emergency:
Spanx for arms are a thing now and --really?! TheCut.com says the concept by Spanx founder SARA BLAKELY is simple: "Tights for your legs have been around for years, so... why not tights for your arms?"
(Maybe because we like having blood flow to our flabby arms! It makes it easier to give the finger when we see undergarments that reduce our oxygen intake levels.)
The garment is described as "basically a crop top made out of tights." The idea is intended to be "a solution that will smooth and flatter your arms and feel super luxe on the skin too." The Arm Tights, which range in price ($30-$34) and color, will be available Monday on Spanx.com.(Bartha)
