Say goodbye: McDonald's announced yesterday that it's tearing down the very first restaurant bearing its name. The original fast-food restaurant, located in suburban Des Plaines, outside Chicago, IL, was opened in 1955 by RAY KROC, who franchised the brand from the original owners, RICHARD and MAURICE McDONALD.
That original store was actually torn down in 1984, and portions (including the original sign) used for the McDonald's Store No. 1 Museum which was built there.
Now, however, the Mickey-D people say visitors to the museum have declined to a point where it's no longer profitable to keep it open. Part of the problem is apparently that the land that it's on has been flooded repeatedly since 2008.

SELENA GOMEZ is selling sneakers. She's teamed up with Puma for a new line of (quote), "fashionable, functional and fearless" kicks called The Phenom. They come in black, pink or olive with pink Puma symbols. The trainers are available now and cost $90-dollars. (Marino)

MEGHAN MARKLE and PRINCE HARRY are madly in love and simply can't bear to be apart. Sources tell Us Weekly that the duo are planning a summer wedding and the "Suits" star is moving out of her Toronto apartment and into his two-bedroom Nottingham cottage --allher personal belonging are being sent to the UK. In addition, Us Weekly says that Meghan's dogs, a beagle named Guy and a labrador-shepherd named Bogart, will soon join her across the pond as well. Word is the lovebirds will officially announce their engagement early next year with an official proclamation and TV interview. (Lee)
