The President at play:
No major surprises last night during PRESIDENT TRUMP's first State of the Union Address. As previewed by White House officials, he called for bipartisan action on issues like immigration and infrastructure, while calling on a deeply divided nation to come together after a tumultuous first year in office.
A few excerpts:
--On the American Dream: "To every citizen watching at home tonight, no matter where you have been or where you come from, this is your time... If you work hard, if you believe in yourself, if you believe in America, then you can dream anything, you can be anything, and together, we can achieve absolutely anything."
--Regarding infrastructure: "We built the Empire State Building in just one year. Isn't it a disgrace that it can now take 10 years just to get a permit approved for a simple road? ...I am asking both parties to come together to give us the safe, fast, reliable, and modern infrastructure our economy needs and our people deserve."
--On North Korea: "Past experience has taught us that complacency and concessions only invite aggression and provocation. I will not repeat the mistakes of the past administrations that got us into this dangerous position."
The only real contentious moment of the address came while the president discussed immigration reform and called for reforming the family reunification visa program, which is also known as "chain migration." He said, "Under the current broken system, a single immigrant can bring in virtually unlimited numbers of distant relatives."
That line resulted in audible boos and hisses from many Democrats in attendance. (Pacelli)I'm a Poll Man:

A Norwegian Air Boeing 737 was forced to go back to Oslo after taking offwhen a toilet in the plane broke and couldn't be fixed --even though there were 85 plumbers on board.
The Daily Starreports the plumbers couldn't help since theproblem thatneeded to be fixed was outside of the aircraft, forcing it to cancel its flight to Munich and return to Oslo. A spokesperson for Norwegian Air said "The aircraft was repaired and continued with the flight later that day. We would like to thank passengers for their patience and would like to apologize for the inconvenience."
