The President at play:
PRESIDENT TRUMP participated in the annual Gridiron Club Dinner on Saturday night, letting loose with some self-deprecating humor, while casting a few barbs at his own White House and his usual targets. Some of his better lines:
--On his son-in-law JARED KUSHNER: "We were late tonight because Jared could not get through security."
--Regarding Attorney General JEFF SESSIONS: "I offered him a ride over and he recused himself. What are you going to do?"
--On The New York Times: "I'm a New York icon. You're a New York icon. And the only difference is I still own my buildings."
--Regarding VP MIKE PENCE: "He is one of the best straight men you're ever going to meet... he is straight. Man." (Pacelli)Designer Update:
Lacoste is swapping out its iconic crocodile-logo polo shirts for rhinos and tigers and condors. (Oh my!) The New York Postsays the French brand introduced a limited-edition polo shirt line to support 10 different endangered species. Working with the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the new Lacoste-logos feature the Javan Rhino, the Burmese Roofed Turtle, the California Condor, the Sumatran Tiger, the Kakapo Parrot and the Vaquita, an extremely rare subspecies of porpoise that can only be found in the Gulf of California. Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
DIDDY is no longer the top-earning hip-hop artist. After seven consecutive years at number one, Forbes magazine says JAY-Z has taken over the top spot. The magazine says Jay-Z had a net worth of $900-million dollars in the last 12 months, which is up $90-million dollars from the same period last year. Diddy is second with $825-million dollars. In third is DR. DRE with an estimated worth of $770-million dollars. EMINEM and DRAKE tie for fourth with $100-million dollars each. (Marino)
Brain dead:
A college in New York City is trying to evict a woman from the dormitory.
Hunter College filed a lawsuit against 32-year-old LISA PALMER, saying she's illegally squatting in student housing. Palmer used to be a student at the school but she dropped out. The college says she's been living in the dorm illegally since 2016 and owes $94-thousand-dollars in residence fees. Palmer says she has no plans to move out. (Still) -
