Look what I found:
A Michigan woman has been reunited with her high school class ring after 47 years.
Construction workers renovating Comstock High School found the 1971 class ring after taking apart a set of lockers. A worker says, "I tipped a locker over and a ring fell out." He took it to administrators, who managed to track down the ring's original owner, ANGELITA OLIVARES. The woman remembers putting the ring in her locker one day before class. But, after class it was gone. She says, "The only thing I could think of is someone stole my ring." Angelita says she's overjoyed to have the ring back after all this time.(Still)Boston Marathon:
Congrats to DESIREE LINDEN, who finished first in the women's division yesterday in the Boston Marathon. It's the first victory for an American woman since 1985, when LISA LARSEN WEIDENBACH won the race. American women also finished fourth through seventh --RACHEL HYLAND finished fourth; NICOLE DEMERCURIO was fifth; SHALANE FLANAGAN was sixth and KIMI REED was seventh.
Japanese racer YUKI KAWAUCHI finished first in the men's division. Defending champion GEOFFREY KIRUI was second, and US men SHADRACK BIWOTT and TYLER PENNEL were third and fourth.Your Body:
Too much sitting may shrink the part of your brain connected to your memory. The New York Daily Newssays researchers at the University of California Los Angeles found that the patients who sat "too much" --anywhere from three to seven hours per day-- had a noticeable thinning of the medial temporal lobe. That's the area of the brain where new memories are formed. They also saw the same results among patients who were physically active --meaning that the damage done by sitting for extended periods of time could not be offset by exercise. A thinned medial temporal lobe is typically a predecessor for dementia and marked cognitive declines in middle-aged to older people. (Bartha)
