Human Nature:
Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest may not be good for women's self-esteem. WebMD.com says a new study out of the United Kingdom suggests that women are less likely to be happy with their bodies if they spend more than an hour a day on social media. These women tend to think thin people are more attractive, and may be more self-conscious about how they themselves look. (Bartha)
Taking everything much too seriously:
The guy who holds the record for eating more McDonald's Big Macs than anyone else just hit another milestone.
Sixty-four-year-old DON GORSKE of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, ate his 30-thousandth Big Mac Friday. He says he's been looking forward to this moment for a long time, adding "This one is a biggie for me." Gorske has been eating Big Macs everyday since 1972. In 2016 he broke the world record by downing his 28,788th sandwich. He says, "I love the patties, I love the sauce, I can't get enough of it." (Still)Casting Call:
It's in the works --a fifth "Rambo" movie.
Deadline reports SLY STALLONE will be back and the plot will have him working at a ranch in Texas until the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped. That's when he crosses the U.S.-Mexican border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico's most violent cartels.
There's also been rumors that Sly might be directing the movie as well, but nothing's certain at this point.Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
The New Jersey Hall of Fame honored its own last night in Asbury Park. The Asbury Park Press says STEVEN VAN ZANDT of the E STREET BAND, FRANKIE VALLI and the FOUR SEASONS, disco queen GLORIA GAYNOR and DEBBIE HARRY were all inducted. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN started his night with dinner across the street, then made his way to the venue to induct Little Steven. Bruce also stuck around to play SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY's "I Don't Wanna Go Home" with Little Steven and his Disciples of Soul band. (Marino)
