R.I.P.: Fans of "The Office" will be sad to hear that HUGH DANE --best known as Hank the security guard-- is gone at the age of 75. TMZ reports he passed away in mid-May, while RAINN WILSON tweeted that his co-star was "one of the greats" who was: "So kind, funny, talented." STEVE CARELL chimed in to say he was a "terrific guy."Dane also had stints on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," "Everybody Hates Chris," "Friends" and other popular shows.(Lee)
Filling a need:
If you like cake, ice cream, and beer --you'll love this.
A brewery in New York has unveiled their new ice cream cake beer. "Fudgie the Beer" stout from the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company is a tribute to "Fudgie the Whale," a popular whale-shaped chocolate ice cream cake. Brewers teamed up with the ice cream maker to create a fudge-flavored beer with 6-percent alcohol content. The company recommends pairing the brew with chocolate dessert or smoked foods. The first batch of Fudgie the Beer has already sold out. (Still)Stars and their movies:
Here's an interesting offer. The folks at adult-entertainment studio XBlaze have extended an offer to ROSEANNE BARR to star in the maiden scene in their new porn movie --and are willing to pay her $150-thousand dollars to do it.
XBlaze CEO JEFF DILLON wrote a letter to Rosie, saying "we are certain that someone like you, a superstar who still VERY influential in today's pop culture, can pull off the performance of a lifetime as an adult entertainer in an industry that allows its stars to be themselves."Weird science:
Broccoli coffee is a thing that actually exists (and a thing we don't think should everexist). Mashable.com says because people don't eat enough vegetables, Australian scientists have developed a powder made from whole broccoli, using a "combination of selected pre-treatment and drying processes" that help to keep the flavor, color, and the nutrients from the vegetable. While it was designed to be added to any food or drink to improve nutrition, the powder was tested in a Melbourne café. In a latte. That they called a "broccolatte." (Just... no!) It received what is kindly being referred to "mixed reviews."
Editor's note: Not every beverage needs to be green, people! Keep your broccoli out of our coffee! (Bartha)
