Culture Shock:
Those millennials have outdone themselves once again. This time, new research shows that nearly 30-percent of 24-to-31-year-olds prefer drinking at home to going out for a very simple reason --it takes "too much effort!"But, they're also thrifty --lots of the generation responded on Twitter that they liked saving money, especially when a six-pack sells for nine or 10-bucks, which is the same price as a single drink in a bar.
Some 55-percent of the general population say they'd rather stay home to imbibe while 74-percent of homebodies claim it's more relaxing then hitting the town. (Lee)Fast Food:
Get a free taco today, thanks to the Golden State Warriors.
As you probably know, Taco Bell has been holding its "Steal a Game, Steal a Taco" promotion for three years now, and because the Warriors beat the Cavs in Cleveland, they "stole a game" from the home team. So if you visit your local Taco Bell today, you can pick up a complimentary Doritos Loco Taco --a Doritos shell filled with meat, cheese, sour cream and lettuce-- one per person from 2 pm to 6 pm.Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
U2 played an invitation-only show Monday night at the historic Apollo Theater in the Harlem section of New York City. Variety says 1,500 people got to hear a very different set list from the one U2 is playing on its current tour. The SUN RA ARKESTRA was also part of the show for the encore, which naturally featured "Angel of Harlem." BONO dedicated "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" to ANTHONY BOURDAIN who took his own life over the weekend. Bono said he originally wrote that song for INXS singer MICHAEL HUTCHENCE who died in 1997. (Marino)
Chocolate, Caffeine, Alcohol:
Coffee may be good for your liver. WebMD.com says new research from Johns Hopkins University found that having three or more cups of coffee each day may help ward off serious liver ailments. The 26-year study found that people who drank three-cups-a-day were 21 percent less likely to find themselves hospitalized with liver-related illnesses. (Bartha)
