Finders keepers: Congrats to eight-year-old SAGA VANECEK, who found an ancient pre-Viking-era sword while swimming in a lake in Sweden during the summer. Experts at the local museum now believe her sword may date to around 1,500 years ago. Saga says "I felt something in the water and lifted it up. Then there was a handle and I went to tell my dad that it looked like a sword." No word on how much it might be worth.
Teach your kid to operate a shredder --then don't be surprised when he shreds real money!
Yep, that's what happened when two-year-old LEO BELNAP took the envelope of more than $1,000 in cash and ran it thru the family's shredder. They'd planned to use the money to buy season tickets to the University of Utah's football games, but now the couple --who taught their son to shred stuff including "junk mail and just things with our name on it, or important documents we want to get rid of," are now outta luck.
The good news --they may be able to recover some (or all) of the cash by sending pieces of the money to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, according to the US Treasury.A sign of a witches coven? Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, an environmental advocacy organization, says they've found nearly a dozen decapitated goats in Atlanta's Chattahoochee river. No word on who did the decapitations, but people are pretty upset, considering the Chattahoochee supplies 70 percent of metro Atlanta's drinking water.
And here's good news --Uber said yesterday they're going to offer Americans the ability to quickly find their polling place and also work with nonprofits to give certain groups of people free rides to the polls. Lyft is also offering half-priced and free rides to polling places on Election Day.
