As if! "Clueless" is getting a remake. Variety reports "Girls Trip" writer TRACY OLIVER will be producing and MARQUITA ROBINSON, who writes for Netflix's comedy series Glow," has been hired to write the script. The quintessential 1995 movie originally starred ALICIA SILVERSTONE as Cher Horowitz, and made $56 million. No word about casting yet, but my favorite Cher quotes from "Clueless":
--Cher: "Ugh! As if!"
--Dionne: "Hello, that was a stop sign." Cher: "I totally paused!"
--Cher: "Searching for a boy in high school is as useless as searching for meaning in a Pauly Shore movie."
--Cher: "Dionne and I were both named for great singers of the past who now do infomercials."
--Cher: "May I please remind you it does not say RSVP on the Statue of Liberty."
--Cher: "You see how picky I am about my shoes and they only go on my feet."
And there's also a Broadway show coming based on the movie as well, scheduled to debut next month with DOVE CAMERON as Cher.Sorry to hear about the death of singer-songwriter TONY JOE WHITE, probably best known for his 1968 hit "Polk Salad Annie." He was 75. But Rolling Stone magazine says he was also the writer of BROOK BENTON's hit, 1970's "Rainy Night in Georgia," which was covered by a flock of other artists.
Since the top-10 salaries for male TV stars was published by Forbes magazine, it was only a day after that the highest-paid actresses for the past year were also published, with SOFIA VERGARA topping the list for the seventh year in a row, with $42.5 million for the "Modern Family" star.
In second place, KALEY CUOCO from the "Big Bang Theory," who made $24.5 million last year --half of it from endorsements. Following her was "Grey's Anatomy" star ELLEN POMPEO, who pulled in a million less ($23.5 million), "CSI" star MARISKA HARGITAY with $13 million in fourth place, and "Modern Family" co-star JULIE BOWEN in fifth with $12.5 million.
Also in the top 10: MAYIM BIALIK, MELISSA RAUCH, KERRY WASHINGTON, CLAIRE DANES, and PAULEY PERRETTE.
