Forbes magazine has the latest list of the highest paid hosts on TV, led by JUDGE JUDY SHEINDLIN, who picked up a cool $147 million for her 23rd season as well as selling the rights to re-run the show's 52-hundred episodes. The top five:
5. "Family Feud" host STEVE HARVEY, $147 million
4. RYAN SEACREST, $74 million
3. Dr. PHIL McGRAW, $77.5 million
2. ELLEN DeGENERES, $87.5 million
1. Judge Judy, $147 million
Whoops! A woman from Monroe County, GA, spent over three months in jail for ...possessing cotton candy. DASHA FINCHER said the cops pulled her over because her windows were tinted too dark, and then saw a large open plastic bag inside the car, which she told them was blue cotton candy.
They didn't believe her, and ran a "roadside drug test" which claimed to have detected methamphetamine inside the bag. She was busted for meth trafficking and possession of meth with intent to distribute.
But three months later, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation test revealed the stuff in her bag was not methamphetamine --and not even an illegal drug. The charges were dropped but Fincher has now filed a Federal suit claiming she spent over three months in jail because of it.
And... the Washington Post reports a neighborhood advisory panel in Washington, DC, was expected to vote yesterday to rename the street outside the Saudi Embassy --the east side of New Hampshire Avenue NW between F Street and Juarez Circle-- "Jamal Khashoggi Way." It's not unusual for the denizens of the nation's capitol to make a statement --the Post points out earlier this year, a street sign honoring slain Russian dissident BORIS NEMTSOV was unveiled outside the Russian Embassy on Wisconsin Avenue NW.
