It's all about food today... to begin with, the folks at Krispy Kreme will be doing another one of their beloved "Day of Dozens" coming up this Wednesday. Here's how it works --you buy a dozen doughnuts at Krispy Kreme and you'll be able to pick up a second dozen of their Original Glazed doughnuts for just one dollar.
By the way --having been at the local Krispy Kreme over the weekend, I can attest to the fact that they have an three interesting red and green-decorated donuts for the holidays, flavored with cinnamon swirl, pumpkin spice, and gingerbread glaze and topped with a little piece of Christmas candy. You probably missed it on Tuesday, but that was the date the very first Burger King opened up --Dec 04, 1954 in Miami, FL. The Christian Science Monitor reports that makes it four months older than McDonalds, which RAY KROC opened in Des Plaines, IL, on April 15, 1955. So there's something to celebrate this weekend if you're a fast-food junkie.
When you were in college, how often did you dream of a breakfast which included bacon? College, nothing --you probably want some now --but students at Ohio State University have it all over you because they have a brand-new bacon vending machine.
FOX news reports the machine is located in the Animal Sciences building at the school's College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and offers bacon strips or bacon bits for just $1 until next Thursday (Dec 13). The Ohio Pork Council installed the vending machine and students in the meat science program are responsible for re-stocking the machines --with the profits going to the College.
Yes, I know what you're thinking --isn't there any way I could get a machine installed in my house... or garage???
