Just a reminder for those of you who still send things by mail that postage rates are going up on Sunday (Jan 27), from 50 cents to 55 cents for a first-class letter. It's the biggest stamp increase since 1991, but you can defray a bit of the cost by getting some of those Forever Stamps at the current price and then using them later. Still, $100 worth of stamps is only 200 letters worth, but that would save ya $10 in the long run. OK, I'll go away now.
Coolness: JAMES GANDALFINI's son, MICHAEL, is gonna play Tony Soprano in the "Soprano's" prequel coming up. You may not remember that James died of a heart attack while visiting Rome in mid-2013 --he was just 51 years old. His son, Michael, from his first wife, is 19 now. He also has a daughter, Liliana, from his second wife, who's seven years old this year.
This will not be Michael's first role on-screen. He played Joey Dwyer in HBO's "The Deuce" and also had a small role in "Ocean's Eight" as well. VERA FARMIGA, ALESSANDRO NIVOLA and JON BERNTHAL will also have roles in the film, which was written by "Sopranos" creator DAVID CHASE and will be set during the Newark race riots of the 1960s.Director BRYAN SINGER has been accused of more sexual misconduct involving underage boys. Yesterday, The Atlantic published a story with four more accusers coming forward.
Singer was directing "Bohemian Rhapsody," in December 2017 and fired just two weeks before production was set to shut down. But RAMI MALEK, who plays FREDDIE MERCURY in the movie and picked up an Oscar nomination for it, told the LA Times he didn't know about any accusations against Singer: "I didn't know much about Bryan" he said. "I think that the allegations and things, believe it or not, honestly something I wasn't aware of, and that is what it is."If you were the heir to the KFC fortune what would you be doing?
Probably not the same thing as KAILA METHVEN, who's been photographed posing butt-nekkid for the January issue of JMG Lifestyle Magazine --but wearing $10 million buck worth of diamonds.
The London Daily Mail has shots of the 26-year-old LADY GAGA look-alike posing for the magazine and quotes her as saying "it really wasn't about nudity for me, this was about creating something artistic and empowering with a woman's body... 'I have so much respect for women and my own mother had to face many challenges and inequality. I hope to empower other women to be themselves and fight for their rights and help each other."
Methven is the granddaughter of the founder of Rainbow Chicken Unlimited, a South African company that at one time supplied 90-percent of KFC's chicken. The Methvens were also once the third-richest family in South Africa. -
