Nooooo! Despite the terrible reviews and low box office take that the original "Howard the Duck" movie got --only making $21 million of its estimated $35 million cost back in 1986-- Marvel said yesterday thety'll be making a new TV series for His Duckness.
Yes, it's true, and word is that none other than Kevin Smithwill be one of the show's writers. The show will reportedly be streamed on Hulu for those of you who really, really want to watch. No word yet on whose voices will be used for the Duck --or anybody else on the series.Congrats to AEROSMITH, who'll be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this morning (Feb 14) at 11:30 am --appropriately at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Musicians Institute. The honor will be at least partly used to plug their upcoming Las Vegas residency beginning Saturday, April 6, at the Park Theater at the new Park MGM resort. PS: next year the band will be celebrating their 50th anniversary.
And...maybe it's just me, but I was a little disappointed to find out about RICHARD GERE's new baby with wife ALEJANDRA SILVA. It's just that he's 69 years old. Sure, he's in great shape, but my guess is he won't be tossing around the football with the son when the kid's, say, 16 and he's 85. But that's just me. They both have children with previous spouses; Gere has a 19-year-old son, Homer, from his marriage to Casey Lowell, while Silva has a 6-year-old son from her marriage to Govind Friedland. So maybe it's just a way to make sure she's getting a nice share of the inheritance when he kicks, or a big monthly check when the divorce eventually happens, as it does so often in Hollywood.
