Fast food news: You probably could have guessed it: junk food sales (excuse me --snack food sales) have increased in three states which have legalized marijuana sales. A new study from the University of Connecticut and Georgia State University claims monthly retail scanner data from 2006 to 2016 shows that as recreational marijuana: became legal in Colorado, Oregon and Washington, potato chip, cookie and ice cream sales all increased.
And then there's Dippin' Dots, which has started making a new flavor, Cool Mint Crunch, which combines Oreo cookies and Mint Dippin' Dots. It's available now at the mall or you can buy it online and have it delivered to you. Head to www.dippindots.com for more.
With the admission from MICHAEL COHEN that DONALD TRUMP wanted his SAT scores kept private, comes the report from the Washington Post that a military academy that Trump attended as a teen concealed his academic records in 2011 as well. Trump spent five years at the New York Military Academy beginning in the fall of 1959.
The headmaster of the military academy claims the superintendent of the private school "came to me in a panic because he had been accosted by prominent, wealthy alumni of the school who were Mr. Trump's friends" and wanted to keep his academic records secret.Movie news:
--That upcoming "Captain Marvel" movie, scheduled to hit theatres this weekend, is looking like a huge moneymaker, with estimates for the opening weekend ranging from $125 million to --maybe-- as much as $150 million.
--Universal Pictures is said to be going ahead with a film biography of ROCK HUDSON called "All That Heaven Allows." You probably know what a huge movie star he was in the 1950s and '60s, and then on TV in the '70s in the long-running series "McMillan & Wife."
But it wasn't until he passed away in 1985 that his sexual orientation was revealed after dying of complications from AIDS.
--And there's a "Hello Kitty" movie in the works --the first one ever in the 45-year history of the toy, developed by the Japanese company, Sanrio. No word yet on whether the film will be animated, live-action, or a mixture. -
