Gone, but not forgotten: The guy they called "Jack the Ripper."
After genetic testing by forensic scientists in Great Britain, they think he was AARON KOSMINSKI, a 23-year-old Polish barber and a prime police suspect back in the 1800s. They got his DNA by analyzing a stained scarf which was found next to Jack's fourth victim, which they found had some of his bodily fluids on it. Then they compared fragments of mitochondrial DNA, which is passed down solely from one's mother, from one of his living descendants. JARI LOUHELAINEN, the scientist who analyzed the DNA, told the Liverpool Echo newspaper "On the testing, the first result showed a 99.2% match. Since the DNA has two complementary strands, we went on and tested the other DNA strand, which game a perfect 100% match."

Pilots who were gonna fly Boeing's new 737 Max 8 aircraft had to have a little more training. Because the FAA said the 737 Max 8 was just a variant of an already certified aircraft, the 737-800, it limited the amount of extra training for pilots already certified to fly the older plane. US pilots apparently only had to get an extra hour or two of lessons on an iPad, according to the NY Times.
In case you were wondering, Southwest Airlines has 31 of the 737 Max planes, American Airlines 24, and United 14.

Now THAT's a BIIIIG BABY! A New York woman gave birth to a 15-pound, 5-ounce girl last week. The baby was 231/4 inches long, according to officials at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
HARPER BUCKLEY's mom, JOY, said "I knew she was gonna be big, but I didn't anticipate no 15-pound baby." Her other child with her husband, NORMAN, was an 11-pound baby boy, born in May of 2016.

The folks at Apple pushed out new versions of the iPad Air and iPad mini yesterday. The iPad Air comes with a bigger 10.5-inch display (starting at $499), and the iPad mini has the same 7.9-inch screen (starting at $399). Both devices support the Apple Pencil for the first time as well, and have a processor that's three times faster than the previous models.
