To my readers: I am leaving for a week in Amsterdam (Apr 01-08) with my wife. While you're apparently not allowed to smoke pot on the street any more or take pictures of the women posing in their all-together in brothel's windows along the street, Spring *is* the time to see the numerous fields of tulips and poppies ...and enjoy things like Van Gogh museum, the Ice Bar, a swing that's 22 floors high, boat rides along the canals and the Ketel One tasting room in nearby Schiedam!
In Bangladesh, a woman has given birth to twins nearly a month after delivering a premature baby boy.
How??? Her doctor told the BBC the 20-year-old woman was rushed to another hospital just 26 days after giving birth and doctors discovered she had a second uterus with twins, and performed an emergency Caesarean.
The doctor says she and her husband were very poor and never had an ultrasound during her pregnancy.
Another doctor says the condition --called uterus didelphys-- is not as rare as people think. Apparently a woman's uterus begins as two tubes in a fetus, and they usually merge forming one large organ --but it they don't a double uterus may be the result. The condition supposedly affects about one in 1,000 women in England; women may not even know they have it until a pregnancy ultrasound is gotten.Getting a divorce: NICOLAS CAGE. That was quick, considering he and ERIKA KOIKE just got married in Las Vegas four days ago. The NY Post reports April, a makeup artist, and he had been together since April. This was his shortest of four marriages --he was previously married to ALICE KIM, LISA MARIE PRESLEY and PATRICIA ARQUETTE.
Like you really care: A lawsuit filed by a NYC woman this week claims that the TGI Fridays Potato Skins snacks you can buy in the store don't really contain potato skins. Instead, they're made from potato flakes and potato starch. The lawsuit claims the misleading packaging makes it an "inferior product" because the skins of a potato are regarded as more healthful than the inside.
There's a hotel in Germany where the bedrooms all have beds made out of cars. That's right --the V8 Hotel in Böblingen, Germany (outside Stuttgart, the homes of Porsche and Mercedes-Benz) is entirely car-themed, with the rooms, the lobby, the restaurant all about cars. And each room style is named after a different engine type --from V4 to V12. The V8 rooms have beds made from actual vehicle parts, including a Jeep, Ferrari, BMW, Mini and many more. In case you're interested, rooms start at $169 USD a night.
