Everybody's wondering --what got WikiLeaks co-founder JULIAN ASSANGE kicked out of the Ecuadorian embassy after seven years. Turns out it was a number of things, according to reports.
Julian lived in a small office that was converted into a bedroom in the embassy with a bed, sun lamp, computer, kitchenette, shower and treadmill. But things slowly became tense with the folks at the embassy.
Word is he would have "weeks without a shower" and had a "dental problem born of poor hygiene." He also reportedly played loud music and deliberately blocked security cameras, then installed panic buttons that he would activate if he considered his life to be in danger. They also wanted him to clean his bathroom, pay for his internet use and to clean up after his cat as well.
He's said to have also repeatedly insulted the Ecuadorian mission's workers, calling them US spies, and damaged the facilities by riding his skateboard and playing football, despite being told not to do so.Congrats to TIM WILLIAMS, the guy who does all those Trivago commercials, who was found Wednesday afternoon passed out behind the wheel of a car in Houston, Texas. And not by the side of the road --in a moving lane of traffic, according to the Houston Chronicle. Cops later gave him a field sobriety test, which he did not pass and have charged him with driving while intoxicated.
Why he didn't think to check into a hotel... instead of driving home... is not known. What is known is that he'll have to appear in court next Wednesday, Apr 17.The BBC has an article on the most iconic long song intros in pop music... and notes that until at least 30 seconds of a song are heard on a streaming service like Spotify, you don't make any money off the song. So songwriting is different these days --unlike the past when you could have longer intros with a hook in 'em.
Some of the classics with long, identifiable melodies include:
--The Eagles' "Hotel California"
--Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven"
--Issac Hayes' "Theme from Shaft"
--Temptations' "Papa was a Rolling Stone"
and others. I'm sure your listeners have their own favorite songs with longer intros...
