Thanks to RICK SPRINGFIELD, who was the star of our annual WCBS-FM "Saturday in the Park" concert in the 95 degree heat. But you couldn't tell it by Rick, who was jumping around on stage and put on a great performance... as he always does!!!
Ever hit the casinos? The latest thing are MADONNA-themed slot machines, which are in the process of being set up in casinos across the US. The machines will reportedly feature Madonna from various stages of her career... and it's only appropriate that you can win some cash from the Material Girl...!
A couple of Tony Awards couldn't save Broadway's "The Cher Show," since it's been announced that the musical will close August 18th. But don't feel too bad for CHER... word is she'll have a brand-new perfume in stores just in time for the holiday shopping season this fall.
Pushing up daisies: actor DAVID HEDISON, who starred as a submariner in the 1960s TV series, "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea." He was 92. However, more recently you may remember him playing Felix Leiter opposite two James Bonds --ROGER MOORE in 1973's "Live and Let Die," and much later in TIMOTHY DALTON's 1989 Bond film, "License to Kill."
"Kill Bill Vol. 3" is apparently still gonna happen. Director QUENTIN TARANTINO told MTV recently that he's still talking with UMA THURMAN about continuing the series. According to Quentin, the third movie in the series would reportedly have the now-adult daughter of Vernita Green (played by VIVICA A. FOX) trying to get even with Uma's character for killing her mother.
And as long as we're on the sequel subject, MATT GROENING told a Comic-Con audience that a sequel to "The Simpsons Movie" could be happening, despite the fact that Disney now owns FOX. "No doubt there will be another 'Simpsons' movie one of these days," he told fans. "I think Disney wants something for its money."
