It's off, it's on, it's off again: Woodstock 50. Variety reports the various vendors and stakeholders were notified yesterday (Wed) morning, that the festival --originally scheduled for Aug 16-18-- was not gonna happen.
Gone: HAROLD PRINCE, who did amazing Broadway musicals as director and producer --among them "The Phantom of the Opera," "Cabaret," "Company" and "Sweeney Todd" and had 21 Tony Awards in his collection, died yesterday in Reykjavik, Iceland. He was 91.
ELTON JOHN celebrated 29 years of being sober on Monday. He posted the victory on Instagram, thanking "all the selfless people who have helped me on my journey through sobriety" since 1990. "I am eternally grateful," he said.
See ya: LORI LOUGHLIN and MOSSIMO GIANNULLI's two daughters, OLIVIA JADE and ISABELLA, have been booted from the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at the University of Southern California. Us Weekly quotes a member of the sorority who claims the Greek institution "is trying to distance themselves from the situation as much as possible."
Fast food news: Taco Bell is adding animal-free vegan meat to its menu, in dishes including burritos, tacos, and quesadillas... but not in the US of Canada. In fact, nowhere in North America --you'll have to chow down on the new meals in Spain.
The company says the new meat is made from oats and beans and is marinated in a sauce with "secret Taco Bell spices."
In other fast food news, the folks at Pringles have reportedly created two new flavors of potato chips --but for a limited time only. Look for "Bacon Flavored Potato Chips" and "Mac and Cheese Potato Chips" at your favorite store.And, for the Jewish food fanatics in the audience, word that the folks at Manischewitz, who make wine, matzoh and other religious foodstuffs, have agreed to sell all of its kosher food business to Kenover Marketing Corp.
