If you're a fan of star-gazing, tonight and Tuesday night will be the peak of the Perseid meteor shower this year. It's one of the biggest and scientists say it will be the best one of this year, with a dozen meteors per hour and possibly up to 50 or more at its peak.
Fast food dep't: Fox News reports a police officer in Clovis, New Mexico, went to Burger King to get a sandwich --then posted a picture of a wrapper he received with a cartoon pig drawn on the wrapper, and the caption under his picture: "Well, while on lunch break (and in uniform) I ordered food at Burger King and received this. The patties were burnt and the burger was of very poor quality. Guess that was the last time I ate at Burger King in Clovis, NM."
When the owner of the Burger King found out about it, he reached out to the officer involved to apologize and terminated the employees who did it.Fast Food news, take 2: Hooters is reportedly offering all-you-can-eat wings for $15.99 every day through September 9, 2019 at participating locations. The wings reportedly include Smoked Wings, Original-Style Wings, Daytona Beach-Style Wings, Naked Wings and Boneless Wings. Find the locations HERE.
Great story from the Detroit News: back in 1993, WESLEY RYAN sold his 1993 Mustang GT to pay for his wife's (successful) cancer treatment. What he didn't know, is that now --17 years later-- his son, JAKE, and daughter, JENI, now 26 and 22, had tracked the car down last September outside of San Antonio, Texas, and bought it back from the owner. They were ready to make the thousands of dollars in payments to bring it back to new status, until the guys at Ford Motor Company heard about it and told them they'd fix the car. Executive Chairman BILL FORD had the company donate a 5.0-liter V-8 engine, a new transmission and paid to have the car fully restored by Texas-based Hennessey Performance.
Then, nine months later, HENRY FORD III flew the family up from Texas to Dearborn, Michigan, and gave it to Wes, who said "I was feeling like I was 30 years old again. I felt like a young parent again. I kept thinking 'Do I deserve this?'" -
