See ya: This year's Detroit Auto Show has been canceled as authorities will be turning the TCF Center into hospital a hospital to treat coronavirus cases.
Ordering from Instacart so you don't have to mix and mingle in the supermarket? It may get more difficult --or cost you more-- as the Instacart employees say they want more money because they claim the delivery service puts them at risk of exposure to coronavirus cases and want more protection and hazard pay from Instacart.
By the way, if you're looking for a temp job, Instacart says its looking to add 300-thousand more workers for at least the next three months.
TMZ reports a strip club named Bliss Showgirls in a suburb of LA called City of Industry has been closed down after the club kept operating thru Friday night despite an order closing all non-essential businesses. Of course, some guys will always argue the club *was* an essential business....
Queen Elizabeth's footman has reportedly been diagnosed with coronavirus... so let's hope the Queen has no infected toenails... (sorry...).
And, while we're on the coronavirus beat, the NY Post reports experts they've contacted believe you should wear masks because when you speak, there are always droplets coming out of your mouth, and if you're wearing a face mask, it can prevent droplets that carry the virus from escaping and infecting others.
But --that advice is in direct contrast to what Surgeon General Jerome Adams has said, namely that masks "are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus, but if healthcare providers can’t get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our community at risk.”
Those 18-hundred passengers aboard the Holland America ship MS Zaandam, which has been at sea since leaving Argentina March 7, have been stranded off the coast of Panama for nearly three weeks. The ship has finally gotten permission to use the Panama Canal and make for its home port in Florida. Only problem --Fort Lauderdale's mayor has said he didn't want it to dock near the city. The cruise line says four people aboard the ship have died and at least two have tested positive for coronovirus.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin says that your $12-hundred dollar check from the coronavirus bill should be in your bank account "within 3 weeks." If you've been watching the news (what else is there to do...?) you'll remember that Americans who make up to $75,000 will receive $1,200 checks, plus $500 per dependent child. The amount gradually decreases if you make up to $99,000, at which point the payments cut off completely.
Finally, that obnoxious "Baby Shark" kids song is back with all new lyrics meant to inspire your kids to wash their hands. It's almost two minutes long and also includes lyrics about coughing and sneezing as well. Find it HERE.
