Some sad news to start off: Lollapalooza 2020 has been canceled thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It was scheduled to take place July 30th through August 2 at Chicago’s Grant Park and usually pulls in around 100,000 people each year. Festival organizers say they'll offer a virtual festival instead, with performances from around the city plus various recorded performances from the festival’s six international editions.
FOX News reports the VILLAGE PEOPLE's VICTOR WILLIS is more than a little upset that PRESIDENT TRUMP is using "YMCA" and "Macho Man" at rallies. It's a reversal from his statement back in February where he wrote in Facebook, "Since our music is not being used for a specific endorsement, the President’s use is 'perfect[ly]' legal." Now, however, following Trump's recent post in which the President wrote "looting leads to shooting," Willis said "If Trump orders the U.S. military to fire on his own citizens (on U.S. soil), Americans will rise up in such numbers outside of the White House that he might be forced out of office prior to the election. Don't do it Mr. President! And I ask that you no longer use any of my music at your rallies especially 'Y.M.C.A' and 'Macho Man.' Sorry, but I can no longer look the other way."
Some good news: "Bill and Ted 3: Face the Music" is set to open in theaters August 21st. Back in their title roles, ALEX WINTER and KEANU REEVES are now enmeshed in middle age, and their band, Wyld Stallyns, is playing $2 taco night showcases instead of bringing the world together in rock & roll harmony.
Finally, some weird news: Doctors in China claim to have successfully removed a dead, 16-inch fish from the rear end of a man who said he sat on it “by accident.” Of course, this raises the question for your listeners: “What have you ever sat on by accident.” You’ll undoubtedly need to use the buzzer for this one…
