Variety reports there's a reboot of the movie "Twister" in the works. The original starred BILL PAXTON and HELEN HUNT, who play storm chasers. The new film will be directed by “Top Gun: Maverick's” director JOSEPH KOSINSKI, but no word on any stars yet.
Fast food: Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are launching a new Spicy Western Bacon Cheeseburger at participating locations, which has a charbroiled beef patty, topped with tangy BBQ sauce, jalapenos, onion rings and melty Pepper Jack cheese on a seeded bun. It'll set you back $5.19 for a single burger and $7.79 for a combo... and it'll reportedly put 1060 calories on your frame.
Those of you who thought it was time to get back to business since the coronavirus cases were slowing down, better think again. The U.S. hit the highest single day of coronavirus cases yesterday, with 36,358. That breaks the record set in late April by some 73 cases, according to NBC News.
Hotspots include Florida, where more than 109,000 cases have been reported, and there's only 21 percent capacity in adult intensive care units there. It's worse in Arizona, which has just 12 percent of its ICU beds available, according to the state health department.
Last thing: with the coronavirus so prevalent these days, you might wanna get one of those Forehead Thermometers for you --or your studio-- or check staff or listeners. The CLOC Digital Infrared Forehead Thermometer runs $49.99 on Woot.com (while they last), takes readings in 1 second, and you can get up to 10. Check it out HERE.
Finally, today is Global Beatles Day, and also National Handshake Day... you might wanna play a Beatles record, but handshakes are gone with the wind (so to speak). You're doing something like touching clothed elbows, right? Ask your listeners for alternatives.
