The ROLLING STONES have sent a legal memo to PRESIDENT TRUMP asking him to stop using their song, "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at his campaign rallies. The prez used the song at last week's rally in Tulsa, OK. And this isn't the first time the Stones have asked Trump to quit using one of their songs --the same song was used by his campaign during the 2016 elections.
Now the Stones have warned that the continued use could leave him open to legal action if he violates their cease and desist memo.
The Stones aren't the only artist that have asked Trump to quit using their songs. The family of the late TOM PETTY also sent one to the Trump campaign over the use of his song, "I Won't Back Down," at the Tulsa rally. In a statement posted on Twitter, the family said that Petty would "never want a song of his used for a campaign of hate".
Show biz: It'll be MARGOT ROBBIE starring in a new "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie at Disney. You've already seen Margot in "Birds of Prey" and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<." The Hollywood Reporter sez the film is separate from the franchise reboot announced last year, but will still have the "Pirates of the Caribbean" but without JOHNNY DEPP.
Getting ready to celebrate the Fourth of July? The National Retail Federation says Americans are a little hesitant over parties, barbeques and even watching fireworks, thanks to the coronavirus. The stats:
- Some 76-percent plan to celebrate Independence Day, down from 86 percent last year.
- 56% plan to have a cookout, BBQ or picnic, down from 61% last year.
- 24% plan to attend fireworks or a community celebration, down from 40% last year.
- Just six percent say they'll attend a parade, down from 11% last year.
Fast food: Get ready for the Fourth of July with "Indoughpendence Day" Doughnuts at Krispy Kreme. Yeah, a colorful dozen doughnuts decorated with red and white icing or red, white and blue sprinkles --or any combination. Stop by a participating location through July 5, 2020.
See ya: Carnival cruise lines says they'll be taking some of their passenger ships, and demolishing or selling them because of the downturn in passengers, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. CNN reports one of them is possibly the Costa Victoria which debuted in 1996, 23 years ago. Although Carnival hasn't announced the ships, the mayor of Italy's town of Piombino let the cat out of the bag when he announced on Facebook that the ship had arrived there to be prepared for demolition.
More coronavirus news --the European Union is now slated to reopen this week, with a decreasing amount of new infections. But they will not allow Americans to enter the EU.
