Black Lives Matter update: Miami-Dade County commissioners OK’d the change for the portion of NE 16th Avenue where TRAVON MARTIN was shot and killed by GEORGE ZIMMERMAN, a neighborhood watch volunteer, to be renamed Trayvon Martin Avenue. The change is expected to go into effect this week.

New research from Australia's national science agency seems to indicate the virus which causes Covid-19 can remain infectious on surfaces such as banknotes, phone screens and stainless steel for 28 days --a month! If you’ve been following the research, we’ve been told that it can survive for two to three days on bank notes and glass, and up to six days on plastic and stainless steel –although some estimates varied, depending on things like the temperature. Now, however, the Australian agency CSIRO says they found the “extremely robust” virus could survive for 28 days on smooth surfaces such as glass found on mobile phone screens and both plastic and paper money at temperatures of around 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fast food news: The folks at Carvel will be celebrating Freeform TV’s “31 Nights of Halloween” movie line-up with a new “Hocus Pocus Shake.” It’s made with their vanilla soft serve ice cream mixed with Oreo Cookie pieces, topped with whipped cream and Halloween sprinkles. You can get it at participating Carvel locations nationwide through November 1, 2020.

When is Amazon Prime Day? This year’s it’s coming Tuesday and Wednesday, and is just for Prime members with lotsa deals. However, other online services will also be having sales to attempt to take away some of the hype, and unofficially, some of the deals have begun at Amazon already. Good luck!
