Tropical storm Zeta is now a hurricane, with 70 mph winds and heading towards the Northern Gulf Coast. Experts believe it'll hit Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula near Cancun and then turn North towards the US.
Music News, take one: interesting note revealed by OZZY OSBOURNE on his SiriusXM satellite show, “Ozzy Speaks” --he said EDDIE VAN HALEN once asked him to join his band: “He phoned me up one time and asked me if I wanted to sing in his band --way after Sammy [Hagar]... I think he was a bit drunk,” Ozzy said.
Music News (kinda), take two: JERRY GARCIA's family is pushing a brand-new way to grab some marijuana. Rolling Stone reports their Cannabis line, called ‘Garcia Hand Picked’ will launch next month. GHP will sell three strains of flower, as well as pre-rolls and (wait for it...) guitar-shaped edibles. But --you'll have to visit California to pick 'em up in one of the state's dispensaries beginning in November.
Movie news: That upcoming RICHARD PRYOR movie biography will be directed by KENYA BARRIS, who was behind the series “Black-ish” as well as its spinoffs “Grown-ish” and “Mixed-ish.”
Tube talk: You can see actress JAVICIA LESLIE’s batsuit if you head over to The CW website. She'll be making history as the first Black woman to portray a live-action version of Batwoman on TV or film. She's taking over from RUBY ROSE, who was the character during the first season of the show.
More tube talk: “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” will have its first-ever Asian American cast member this season. Variety sez CRYSTAL KUNG MINKOFF is joining the show for Season 11 on Bravo, which has written off TEDDI MELLENCAMP and DENISE RICHARDS, who left the show after season 10.
Fast Food News: This could be an unusual fast food restaurant if it happens --the NY Times sez Arby’s parent company, Inspire Brands, is in talks to buy Dunkin’ Donuts (now just "Dunkin’") and Baskin Robbins. The fast food company also owns Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic and Jimmy John’s as well. Putting some or all of them together would make a restaurant that would be like a whole food court... but it's just a dream, of course.
