Looks like GEORGE CLOONEY's admission that he's used a Flowbee to cut his hair for 22 years on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" was a boon for the company, since they are now completely SOLD OUT. Figures that a bunch of people picked one up for $54.95 for a holiday present because of George's testimonial. A spokesman for Flowbee says they'd already seen a boost in sales because of the coronavirus, but George's testimonial caused their website to become so overloaded a lot of customers weren't even able to complete their orders. And now, they're outta the cheap models, but they apparently still have some of their expensive models (at $98.95 and $139.95) left. Head here: flowbee.com or check out stores like Target, Amazon or even eBay.
ELLEN DeGENERES and PORTIA de ROSSI have picked up a $61-million-dollar home near PRINCE HARRY and MEGHAN MARKLE's place in Montecito, CA. No biggie for LA celebrities, apparently, since the four-acre property was previously owned by DENNIS MILLER and his wife, and besides the main house, features a barn, a lily pond, and a courtyard. The Prince and his wife have a place in nearby Santa Barbara, OPRAH plunked down $50 million for her 66-acre place back in 2001, and ASHTON KUTCHER and MILA KUNIS have a home there as well.
This Saturday --December 12th-- is the “Day of the Dozens” (Get it --12/12???) and Krispy Kreme is celebrating the day (as they do every year) by offering one dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for just a buck ($1) with the purchase of any dozen at regular price. And you can get it to take-out, at the drive-thru window, or in shops.
Pretty cool event happening after sunset on December 21, 2020, the start of the winter solstice --which hasn't happened in nearly 800 years. The two largest planets in our solar system, Jupiter and Saturn, will align out in space as seen from the Earth, forming what looks like a double planet. It's being called the "Christmas star," and the last time it took place was in March of the year 1226. And you'd better look closely, since astronomers say the next time it'll happen is on March 15, 2080, and sometime after the year 2400.
If you've been out of your home in the evenings to check out the holiday displays, it seems like there are many more --and some people believe that it's because the COVID mess is making people depressed and they're looking to bring some holiday cheer by putting up more decorations and turning up the lights.
Ask your listeners: Is it happening in your neighborhood?
And, on that note, since this is my last column of the year (All Access is on vacation until the beginning of next year), Happy Holidays, have a great start to 2021 --we'll see you next year!
